こんにちは。YUE.です。
今回は、私が約二年ほど続けてきた日記についてお話しします。
日記を書き始めた頃
私は、約二年前から日記を書き始めました。
きっかけは、「本を読んでいる中で日記を書いている主人公がいたから」というしょうもない理由と、「自分にどこまで根気があるのかを知りたかったから」という二つでした。
早速、ネットや書店で日記帳を探して回りました。
今から思うと、普通のノートでも十分だったのですが、形から入るタイプの私は1500円くらいの日記帳を購入しました。
ちなみに、当時私が使用していた日記帳はこちらです↓
5種類ほどのデザインがあり、イラストやページごとに書かれているメッセージなどが気に入りました。
罫線で使いやすい日記帳です。
このとき、購入してから続けられるかがすごく不安だったので後悔した時期もあったのですが、逆に「続けないと勿体無い」という思いに変わりました。
そして、結果的に日記を書いたことによって、今の自分の生活にも変化が出てきました。
あくまで私個人の意見ですが、毎日日記を書く必要はないと思います。
私自身、三日に一度くらいの時期もありましたし、特に書くことが無い日には何も書いていませんでした。
ただ、初めだけなのですが、やっぱり書き続けるのは大変で書き始めたことを後悔している自分もいました。
続けられるか心配な方は、百均などで購入できる普通のノートから始めてみることをお勧めします。
日記が私にもたらしてくれたもの
書き始めて数ヶ月で、私の生活に「日記を書く」作業がルーティーン化されてきました。
ちなみに、私が日記を書いていたのは毎日の就寝前です。
今まで書いてきた日記を読むと、面白いものが見えてきます。
まず一つは、「自分が過去の思い出を美化していることに気が付く」という点です。
その時に私が悩んでいたこと、誰かに怒られて泣いたこと、ムカついたことなど、ネガティブな出来事を私自身がなかったことにしていることに気づいたのです。
ただ忘れているだけというのもあると思いますが、「こんなこと悩んでたんだ」と自分を振り返って始めて感じることはたくさんあると思います。
当時本気で悩んでいたことも、現在の自分からしてみれば「ちっぽけな悩み」だったと私は思いました。今悩んでいることも、そんなに考えすぎなくてもいいのです。
もう一つは、「自分をよく知ることができる」という点です。
先ほどもお話ししたように、勝手に事実を書き換えていることって、結構あります。
自分が知っている自分の像と、日記から見た自分の像は、少し違いました。
こちらは、私自身の考え方の変化です↓
特に、『事実だから』という点は自分のことを客観的に捉えることができるので、日記のいい所だと思います。
日記を書き続けるデメリット
実際に2年ほど、書き続けてきて感じたデメリットは嫌な思い出が文字として残る、と言う点です。
嫌な思い出や、忘れたいことは書かないことが一番ですね。
書き始めた頃は、今日の出来事をそのまま文字に起こしているという感じでした。
なので、今読み返してみると嫌な思い出も沢山残っています。
そうなると、やっぱり気分は落ちてしまいますよね。
なので、忘れたいと感じたことは書かないと言うのもありです。
まとめ
私が考える日記のメリットは
・過去の自分を振り返ることができる。
・何かを続ける力をつけられる。
・当時の出来事を書き留めておくことで、思い出として残る。
・自分自身を知るきっかけになる。
・新しい発見がある。

正直、こんなに日記から学ばされることがあるなんて私も驚きました。
今では、使いきれないと思っていた日記帳を使い切り、家にあったノートに殆ど毎日日記を書いています。
まだ日記を書いたことが無い人には、ぜひ一度オススメします！
