あらすじ
大人気のミステリ作家 宮内彰吾（本名：松方朋泰）と、不倫相手の母の間に生まれた僕 燈真。
宮内が急死し、宮内のもう一人の息子に頼まれたことで、彼の遺稿を探すことに。
その名は「世界でいちばん透きとおった物語」。
多くがその作品を恋愛ものだと思っていた。
遺稿を探すうちに見えてきた、宮内の本当の姿。
そして、父親としての思い。

登場人物
藤坂燈真…主人公。母と二人暮らしをしていたが、母の死によって現在は一人で暮らしている。書店アルバイト。
藤坂恵美…燈真の母。宮内のファンで、のちに不倫関係に。校正者として働いていた。
深町霧子…出版社に勤める編集者。キリッとした頼り甲斐あるビジネスウーマンで、宮内のファン。燈真が密かに思いを寄せる相手。
宮内彰吾…大御所ミステリ作家。燈真の父。女遊びと金遣いが荒く、横柄な態度をとる小説家。
松方朋晃…宮内の息子。遺稿を出版するために燈真と遺稿探しをする。
レビュー
一言で言えば、ストーリーではなく技術。
映画化もできないし、電子書籍化もできない。
紙の本だから成り立つ物語がここにある、ということに感激しました。
この作品には、ラスト衝撃のトリックが隠されています。
本書を読了後に俯瞰するとあることに気づき、とても驚きました。
話題の理由も分かるので、気になっているなら読んだほうがいい小説です！
ただ、個人的に良かったところもあれば、イマイチだったところもあるので紹介します。
・筆者の思いが作品に表れたトリックに衝撃を受けた。
・予想を覆される展開だった。
・隠された仕掛けに気付いた時、驚いた。
・ストーリー自体には感動しなかった。
・トリックに「すごい」と感じただけで、心には響かなかった。
・話の内容が薄めだと感じた。

まず、タイトルから見て「感動恋愛小説」だと予想しました。
あらすじを読んだときに、そうでないとは分かりますが表紙イラストからもその印象が強いです。
予想を覆されました。
賛否両論あるので、気になったなら読んでみることをおすすめします。

ネタバレ
結末
宮内の遺稿を探して、彼の今までの愛人を訪ねていくうちにその小説が「普通ではないこと」が明らかになります。
・大きな手作りの原稿用紙
・カギ括弧だけが書かれた本に宮内は「素材は書き上げた」と言う
など、たくさんの謎が深まっていきます。
最終的に、朋晃の母によって作品は燃やされてしまいます。
そこで霧子が考えた結果、小説は燈真に向けて書かれたものだと明らかになります。
燈真は幼い頃に読んだ宮内の児童書「まほうつかいタタ」で、次ページの文字が透けて見えてしまい、犯人を知ってしまう。
そこで読むのをやめてしまった燈真のために、特殊な形式で小説を書くことを決心した。
宮内が小説に託した、思いとその仕掛け↓
トリック
この小説に隠されていたトリックは二つ。
□ページごとに文章がまたがず、完結している。
□左右対称で、次ページの文字が透けて見えないように配慮されている。
このトリックを知って一番驚くべきことは、
今私たちが読んだこの「世界でいちばん透きとおった物語」にもそのトリックが使われている
ということです。
ページをパラパラ捲ってみると、文章が途中で次ページにまたがっていることはありません。
そして、左右対称で文字が透けて見えることもありません。
この技術に、感激しました！
そして最後のページには、「 」だけが書かれている文章が。
透かしてみると、「ありがとう」と文字が浮かび上がります。
これに気付いたとき、驚きと感動を覚えました。
まるで、この小説の世界に入ったようです。
感想
とにかくこの小説は不思議です。
自分が今、物語の世界にいるのか、現実の世界で本を読んでいるのか分からなくなります。
ラストに至るまでの助走が長く、退屈になってしまう場面もありましたが、最終的には「すごい！」と感じました。
女遊びと金遣いが荒い、あんな酷い父でも、息子のことを想っていたんだと思うと心にきます。
ストーリーは個人的にあまり好みではありませんでしたが、気付いたときの衝撃がすごく大きかったです。
このような「紙の本でしか成り立たない」小説とは初めて出会いました。
電子書籍が普及するこの現在の社会に、新しい小説が生まれました。
それが本当にすごいと思います。
薄くて読みやすい小説なので、ぜひこの新しさを感じてみてください。
